The Owls welcome Swansea City to Hillsborough tomorrow afternoon as they go head to head in the EFL Championship.

It was a very important win for Neil Thompson’s side in the week, beating Wycombe Wanderers 2-0 at home.
The visitors were knocked out of the FA Cup on Wednesday as they were beaten 3-1 by Manchester City.
The win in the week took Wednesday out of the relegation zone and another win could potentially take them up to 19th if results go their way.
This is the 35th time the two sides will have met, the first one coming in 1925 which saw Wednesday come out 3-1 winners.
The Owls have won 13 games against Swansea, whilst the visitors have won on eight occasions.
The reverse fixture back in November ended as a 1-1 draw but how will this game play out?
We take a look…
1. Will Sheffield Wednesday beat Swansea City? No
It’s going to be a tough test for Thompson’s side against a team who are fighting at the other end of the table.
Wednesday’s home form is excellent though, with five wins from their last five games at Hillsborough.
Swansea come into this game in great form, unbeaten in eight in the league whilst winning six of those games. They have also won each of their last three on the road.
2. Will Sheffield Wednesday score in: 15-29
It’s going to be a big ask for the Owls to score considering their record in front of goal and how good Swansea have been defensively this season.
This isn’t exactly a popular time for Wednesday to score in either, however Swansea have conceded most of their goals in this time period.
The Swans have let in five goals between the 15th and 29th minutes whereas Wednesday have scored three in that period.
If the Owls are to score then it could well be between those minutes.
3. How many goals will Sheffield Wednesday score? 0
Wednesday have found the net more often since Thompson was put in charge but they’re still not scoring many.
The Owls have scored just 21 goals this season with 12 of those coming at Hillsborough. That means they’re averaging just 0.86 goals per home game.
Swansea have the best defensive record in the league as well so getting past them won’t be an easy task.
They have conceded just nine goals from 13 away games this season, averaging just 0.69 goals against per game on the road.
4. Will Sheffield Wednesday score in the first half? No
If Wednesday do score then there is a chance that it’ll come in the first half as four of their last six goals at home have been scored in the first 45 minutes.
They have managed seven goals in 14 first halves at Hillsborough, averaging just 0.5 goals per first period on home soil.
Swansea have conceded more goals in the first 45 minutes than they have in the second when playing away, however there’s only one goal in it.
They have let in five from thirteen in the first period, which means they’re averaging 0.38 goals against per first half on the road.
5. Will Callum Paterson score? No
The big Scotsman failed to score last time out but he did score Wednesday’s only goal last weekend. He now has six league goals to his name.
The reverse fixture was the first time Paterson had come up against Swansea and he failed to score in that game.
6. Will Adam Reach assist a goal? No
Reach got Wednesday’s second goal of the game the other night but didn’t register an assist.
He has set up a teammate on three occasions this season, with his last assist coming in the 2-1 loss to Norwich in December.
This will be the 7th time he has faced Swansea and whilst he’s scored three against them before, he has never got an assist.
- How many shots on target will Callum Paterson have? 2
- How many tackles will Sam Hutchinson make? 2
- Will Adam Reach score? No
- Will Kadeem Harris assist a goal? No
- How many saves will Kieren Westwood make? 2
- How many tackles will Barry Bannan make? 2
